Empowering Library Practice Through Effective Boundary Setting: An Overview (Part 1)

Using case studies, lectures, and discussion, in this webinar we will define boundaries and their role in professional practice. Using a trauma-informed lens, we will discuss factors that complicate setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, including those that support and detract from such efforts. Strategies to support healthy boundaries between library workers and patrons will be presented and explored.

Learning Objectives:
– Articulate boundaries and their role in professional practice
– Discuss factors that support and/or detract from establishing boundaries and boundary management
– Identify strategies to support healthy boundaries between librarians and patrons
