Crisis Management & Recovery Workshop [In-Person]

May 17, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Crisis management is a process, not an event.

It is an ongoing, systematic, and disciplined process that an organization should follow to help identify vulnerabilities, prevent crises from occurring, plan for those most likely to occur, communicate effectively during and after a crisis, monitor and evaluate the situation, and make adjustments as necessary.

It is no longer a question of whether a crisis will happen, but rather when, which type, and how it will occur. Managers and employees need to think about the unthinkable in order to protect their organizations. The better an organization can anticipate areas of vulnerability, or possible crises the better it can prepare to manage them.

Join us for an interactive workshop, where attendees will begin to develop a roadmap for their library or organization’s crisis management and recovery process!

This interactive workshop will cover:

  • Characteristics and elements of a crisis
  • Creating a crisis response team
  • Anticipating areas of vulnerability or possible crises
  • How to identify and group the wide range of crises an organization may encounter
  • Designing procedures for responding to crisis
  • Planning for crisis recovery
