The Library Assistants Group is one of the special interest groups and
committees that make up the Rochester Regional Library Council. This
group plans and organizes event, workshops and volunteer opportunities for
all library support staff in the region. It is not a membership organization so
there is no need to “join” and there are no dues or fees. Participation is open
to all library support staff – you do not need to have the job title of “Library
Assistant”.
- A Steering Committee meets four times a year
- Informal workshops are held on Monday evenings twice a year from 6:00-8:00p.m.
- Half-day workshops are held twice a year, spring and fall
- Volunteer activities are scheduled several times each year
Goals:
- To recognize library support staff employed in Rochester Regional Library Council libraries.
- To further professional development, and promote job enrichment, to enhance the professional image of RRLC support staff within the library community.
- To provide a network for communication among RRLC library support staff.
- To cooperate with other RRLC committees and collaborate with similar library assistant organizations on a state and national level.
