RRLC is sponsoring seats to the webinar, “Libraries Transform Lives: Creating Intentional, Life-Changing Moments”, for RRLC members. It is free for you to attend, but space is limited!
“Libraries Transform Lives,” but how are we doing it and can we be more systematic in this regard?
Every day, library staff are engaging with people and empowering them. During the webinar, attendees will gain insights into how everyday library interactions can turn into life-changing moments for patrons. The session will provide practical strategies and helpful models that can shift library service from transactional to transformational. Participants will have opportunities to share their own stories and examples.
By attending, participants will:
• have a greater understanding of the systems and processes that lead to transformational change
• learn a method for building more positivity experiences in libraries
• walk away with ideas for being more intentional about transformational change
LibraryWorks will be donating 100% of the proceeds from this webinar to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Presenter: Sharon Morris experienced her first library-transforming moment at the age of eight when her school librarian handed her the book that made her love reading. That initial spark has led to over 30 years of working in the library field, including children’s and teen services, outreach, collection development, and reference. She holds an MLIS and Ph.D. in Managerial Leadership in Libraries. Sharon led statewide initiatives at the Colorado State Library for more than 20 years, taught for MLIS programs, and offered keynotes, conference presentations, and workshops throughout the country. Her research and speaking topics include authentic leadership, research, management, communications, transformation, play, values, and insight. Sharon takes a learner-centered approach to webinars by inviting all participants to engage, reflect, and plan to apply what they learn.
