Library All Stars are nominated by their colleagues for providing outstanding service. Our 2021 Library All Star winners are:
Mary Santiago, Cleaner at Rochester Public Library, Arnett Branch
Teresa Keyes, Primary Librarian at Canandaigua Primary School Library
Dan Trout, Manager of Acquisitions/Serials at RIT Libraries
Stacey Wicksall, Director at Macedon Public Library
These Library All Stars are dedicated and passionate about their work:
Mary Santiago: Mary’s work is a key reason the Arnett Branch Library is the attractive and welcoming place it is. During this COVID-19 situation we find ourselves in, Mary has performed her duties heroically. Her work allowed the Arnett Branch Library to resume in-person library services (both curbside type services and inside the library services).
Teresa Keyes: In only her second year as the librarian at Canandaigua Primary School, Teresa was faced with the daunting task of providing library services – both in-person and remotely – to over 700 students in grades PK-2. Teresa is able to, through a combination of humor, enthusiasm, creativity and personal drive – bring stories and programs to ALL students at Canandaigua Primary School.
Dan Trout: His positivity, creative ideas and high work ethic are contagious. Plus, he always gives us his “blessing” to try new approaches, offer our own ideas, and encourages us to take advantage of new opportunities. Dan takes time to talk things out, to teach and to learn. His humility is admirable, but it’s his leadership that keeps us motivated and at our best!
Stacey Wicksall: Stacey’s forward-thinking approach and dedication to the library community was especially highlighted over the past year. Stacey quickly learned the ins and outs of online programming and became a mentor to many other libraries trying to suddenly navigate library services in a virtual space. She encapsulates the Core Values of Librarianship and is truly deserving of this special recognition.
