“Suffragists in Every Town and County” How New York Women Won the Vote
The women of New York State received the right to vote three years before the U. S. passed the 19th Amendment. Christine Ridarsky will discuss the leaders of this movement, their strategies and tactics and the local associations that were organized to promote the campaign.
In addition to serving as City Historian, Christine manages the Local History and Genealogy Division at the Rochester Public Library. She is also co-coordinator of the Rochester-Area Suffrage Centennial Alliance, which is planning programs and events throughout the county.
Meetings are held at the Henrietta Senior Center, 515 Calkins Road
