Capacity Building Grant

2025 Grant Awardee:

  • Wood Library: $3,750 for their Workforce Scheduling Project


RRLC invites member organizations to apply for our Capacity Building Grant which supports projects that take action to help increase your library’s capacity by developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, processes, and resources for your organization to survive, adapt, grow, and thrive in this fast-changing world.

The 2025 Grant Application Period is now closed.

ELIGIBILITY:
Membership: All applicants must be dues paying members of RRLC. See our website for a list of member libraries.  NOTE: Individual school and public libraries, while not dues paying members of RRLC, are considered members through their library system. You must be authorized by your organization to submit a proposal on behalf of your organization.

FUNDABLE PROJECTS:
Many types of projects may be funded under this grant program. Some examples of projects may include (but are not limited to):

  • board development and engagement
  • brand development 
  • leadership development and thoughtful leadership succession
  • short term strategic planning
  • targeted marketing communications planning
  • strengthening vision and mission of your organization
  • designing spaces of inclusion developed to explicitly include participants with disabilities
  • other impactful projects that demonstrate an investment in the long-term health and success of your organization to fulfill its mission which, in-turn, enhances your ability to have a positive impact on lives and communities.

GRANT TIMELINE:
October 21, 2024: Application Period is Open
December 9, 2024: Application with required documentation is due
January 16, 2025: Board of Trustees makes final award selections
January 20, 2025: Grant awardees notified this week
January 31, 2025: Grant acceptance letters due; award payments sent
July 31, 2025: Mid-year progress reports due
January 1, 2026: Project completion; final reports due
