WXXI presents a virtual event with Paul Barnes, the co-director and co-producer of the Ken Burns’ miniseries Not for Ourselves Alone: The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony. He will show clips from the groundbreaking documentary, which recounts the largely forgotten 19th-century struggle of Stanton and Anthony to gain equal rights for women. It took 72 arduous years to assure women could vote. Neither woman lived to see the triumph of the Amendment’s passage. Barnes will share stories from the creation of the documentary, and special guest Ali MacGraw will be reading excerpts from the book “The Women’s Hour” by Elaine Weiss.
