Seneca Falls: Was it the Beginning?

Judith Wellman, Director of Historical New York Research Associates and Professor Emerita, SUNY Oswego, will give a presentation entitled, “The Seneca Falls Women’s Rights Convention: Was it the Beginning of the Woman Suffrage Movement?” The talk will be based on Wellman’s book, The Road to Seneca Falls: Elizabeth Cady Stanton and the First Woman’s Right Convention (University of Illinois Press, 2004). Wellman was a featured narrator on the Ken Burns documentary, Not for Ourselves Alone. This program is part of the Media in Focus series presented by the Central Library’s Reynolds Media Center.
